We're looking for teachers!

Do you like to teach chess?

Would you like to learn the skills to be able to teach a roomful of 80 children to sit and concentrate on a game of chess for an hour? Does helping urban kids learn critical thinking skills, teaching them to distinguish good ideas from bad ones, excite you?

At the U.S. Chess Center, we work in large suburban settings and in urban classrooms teaching children the rules, discipline, strategy and etiquette of chess. The U.S. Chess Center is expanding and we need more teachers for both our urban and suburban chess classes!

Do you have what it takes to teach chess?

Qualifications
- Experience with kids: teachers and ex-teachers are urged to apply.
- Enjoy playing chess
- Dependability
- Fluency in English and deep understanding of American culture
- Want to learn our proven methods of teaching chess

Hours
- Full time or after-school part-time hours

Compensation
- Money: Moderate
- Satisfaction: Enormous

Ordinarily, teachers start employment with us in June or September
